I previously lived in a household in which I was fortunate enough to share the company of an incredible succulent plant for about a year and a half. I still don’t know what kind of plant it is. I only remember ever calling it the Monster. I was always drawn to it, fascinated by it, and I started drawing it - and the Monster transformed significantly in the time I spent with it. It got taller and taller and taller, with a graceful curved spine and such expressive, sculptural leaves. Eventually many babies crowded its base. I repotted the mini monsters and gave them away as gifts.
